"Jigsaw puzzles are educational in many ways. The skills acquired and practiced in completing jigsaw puzzles are a foundational part of successful learning. Doing jigsaw puzzles develops several functions of the brain simultaneously as a child has fun, learns, and develops his/her abilities to reason, deduce, analyze, sequence, and develop logical thought and problem solving skills. This is an entertaining app for older children, related to the upcoming Christmas holidays. There are 4 options for the number of pieces of puzzles: 5X5, 6X6, 7X7 and 8X8, as well as 40 different pictures to choose from. There is a magnifying glass function to help the player with finding the pieces. Tapping on the magnifying glass presents the player with the picture being worked on. There is also a timer to time the player as the puzzle is being worked on. This can be a good practice for children to figure out how things fit together, and pattern recognition to a certain extent.
Parents can also use the pictures in the app to help your child develop more language skills. One way is to use the completed puzzle to talk about what they see in the picture.
